I grew up playing sports (volleyball & softball), being outside running, playing, and riding my bike, and eating veggies that only came from a can. I didn’t know about a healthy lifestyle, but I grew up living an active life.
In college, I did ‘normal’ college things. I enjoyed my lifestyle of being away from home, able to eat the foods I like with no control. My weight would go up and I would get into the gym for a while, do some cardio and I could get it to come back down.
When I graduated from Purdue with a degree in Movement & Sports Science, I started working with kids in fitness. I knew how to workout, but I primarily did cardio because that’s what I thought would keep me trim and looking fit. When I got promoted and moved to Colorado I had a high stress job in the fitness industry which was always my excuse to keep me from working out. I figured I was busy running around with the kids I didn’t need to get in a workout.
Then things changed…. I left my job and took on being a full time nanny of a 6 year old. Her and I were traveling, eating, and I gained weight… like wow. This was the biggest I had even been. Lucky for me and my waistline, I left this job when I moved to Florida. A neighbor of mine was into CrossFit and convinced me to join her. I LOVED it! The workouts killed me, but I was motivated and pushed by some many amazing ladies in class. This same friend encouraged me to get my personal training certification and I did. It was something I had always been interested in, come on, that’s basically what I went to college for.
Once I got my certification and I was now in Mississippi I started working as a personal trainer. I have gotten multiply certifications to expand my knowledge. My passion for fitness also includes nutrition. Since I didn’t know much about vegetables or how to cook I have learned so much along the way. I love sharing my knowledge with others so they can live life to the fullest.
As a trainer, I am able to work with people hands on to help them make changes in their life. I have continued my love for training in Dallas and now online. I want to help as many people as possible make the changes they have been wishing for. My goal is to change 200 lives this year. I want to help others gain confidence, satisfaction, and happiness.
